Southern California Surfing at its Finest

I have found some great old photos of surfing around So Cal. Some are from the renowned Photographer, the late, Leroy Grannis. looking through these brought back some great memories and some were from before my time. It was a time when you could party on the beach, have bonfires, drink beer or wine or whatever you had, and when you had had enough even sleep there, and WOW no  police to hassle you or permits to buy. You could park right on PCH and again NO parking meters or time limits. The crowds weren’t so horrible, at least in the late 60′s and early 70′s, but then again the coast wasn’t built on right to the waters edge with million dollar mansions. And there was actually open gaps of land between many beaches. You felt a little like you were exploring when you took off up or down the coast. I mainly surf the Ventura area now because it still reminds me of those laid back days I used to know. Go to my photo page and check the old picts. I hope you enjoy them and I will keep on looking for more to post. If you have any old photos you would like me to add, send them to this site and I will try to put them in the book. Aloha
